Central Europe’s largest indoor water theme park will open this October on the northern outskirts of Budapest, Napi Gazdaság reports.
Covered by a dome of 72 meter in diameter, Aquaworld will stretch on a 86,000 square-meter area and will feature 21 wave and surf pools, 11 slides, as well as saunas, diving towers and an outdoor fitness section.
The project is being developed by Interestate Real Estate Developer Plc. and also includes a four-star hotel, named Ramada Plaza, with 309 rooms, suites, apartments and a 1,000 m2 conference center. The hotel has a franchise agreement with Ramada International, owned by the Wyndham Hotel Group.
Construction began last December after two years of preparation. The Ft 17 billion investment is 80% financed from long-term loans, provided by a consortium of lenders formed by CIB Bank Zrt and Hypo Alpe-Adria Leasing Plc.
