Hungarian government extends Microsoft contract

The Economy Ministry has signed an extension of the Campus and School software licence programmes with Microsoft Magyarország until February 28, 2009, based on the earlier-signed guideline contracts that ran until 2001. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences will also join the scheme.

A new development is that the government will also support the use of open source software from this year, with a guideline contract on the adoption of such software expected to be signed in April.
