The government decided at a Friday meeting to set up an economic coordination forum to offer advice on regulations and measures concerning businesses, said development and economy minister Gordon Bajnai. The forum will comprise representatives from the ministries involved with economic decisions and the country’s business chambers, together with a trade union delegate, he said.
In the meantime, the government plans to eliminate the Competition Council and the Business Development Council since the new forum will cover both issues.
The forum was established after business representatives called for creating a single body to facilitate co-operation and dialogue between the business world and the government, Bajnai said.
The forum holds its first meeting at the end of August.
