Discount movie weekend fills 400,000 cinema seats across Hungary

Some 400,000 viewers attended a cinema-promotion weekend in Hungary, where tickets were sold at discount prices to hundreds of films, including premiers and Hungarian films, PR officer Dorka Tamas told MTI on Wednesday.

Tickets – priced at 450-490 forints (about two euros) sold out fully for most of the showings, Tamas said.

In Budapest, the most popular cinemas during “Cinema Fete” were Palace West End, the newly opened Arena Cinema City, and the favourite art cinema was Muvesz.

The weekend’s most-viewed film was the Hollywood hit comedy “Mamma Mia!”, Tamas said.
