Demján, Hungarian property mogul, hopes to strike it rich in Russian lottery

Details of entrepreneur Sándor Demján’s €200 million investment in the Russian state lottery will be announced today at Moscow’s Ritz Carlton Hotel. Demján has set up a new company, Orglotto, for the project, in which he will co-operate with Russia’s Orglot.

Orglot will organise Russia’s first federal lottery, named “Goslotto.” Orglot plans to pay 27 billion roubles (Ft 192.5 billion) by 2015 to a special fund to support sports in Russia.

Demján will buy Gazprombank’s stake in Orglot, becoming its majority owner. The Russian state remains a minority owner. Former employees of Hungarian state gaming company Szerencsejáték will also work for Orglot in Russia.
