Inforádió, Hungary’s first radio station dedicated solely to news, is carrying out preparations to be ready for digital broadcasting and to expand its online presence, managing director and editor-in-chief Márton Módos announced, according to a subscriber only piece at Napi.hu. News will soon be available by standard radio on FM 95.8, digital broadcast, telephone and via the internet.
InfóRádió’s success is largely due to the regular audience of business and political decision-makers, where the station is their information source of choice. Over 100,000 people tune in daily to the station. In March of this year, the company was bought by Közép-Európai Média Zrt.
Developments and upgrades will continue to be financed from the station’s own coffers, Módos stated. InfoRádió has consistently increased its profits year on year and 2008 looks to be no different.
