Two Spanish and one German furniture store chains are planning to enter the Hungarian market, Hungarian Franchise Association Head Secretary Katalin Mandel told Napi.hu.
Spanish Kolonial Home is characterized by a combination of rustic and modern styles in addition to exotic decorations, while Banak Importa offers colonial style furniture. The Banak franchise recipient will need to open at least three units of at least 150 square meters, representing an investment of €600,000. Becoming a franchisee of Kolonial Home will be cheaper.
German Möbel Kolonie, which offers a style similar to Banak made of teak, currently has six showrooms in Germany, Austria and Spain.
Tell you what Hungary needs - not a ton of these dime a dozen
stores from the U.K., etc. (the likes of Tesco and what not.)
Bring over Whole Foods Market from stateside for a grocer,
Apple computer (I mean everything...official store and
buying/renting through itunes...I know, I know...no Euro, no go
with this one.)
Hungary has some good bits to its culture, last thing they need is
the western crap to dominate. If the west comes in...bring in the
prime stuff.
Before you know it every Hungarian will build American style
houses...and get this, pay the same as they did for the houses
usually built here out of brick, etc. (By the way my butt can put a
whole in an American house...just sheet rock my friends...pretty
is what pretty does, dont get to wowed by the outside.)
So furniture stores?
Wonder if its like some of the stores I have seen...one in
particular selling antiques, which turn out to be totally fake.
(Buyers dont notice at all.)
This brings in the bad parts from each culture, bad quality and
bad service.
Now mind you these two, well 3 stores may well be fine...but
overall the quality of whats coming to Hungary isnt on the up
and up, but the prices are. ;)
(or is that just the forint going down again?) ;)
Peace
