Opposition party pushes immediate adoption of Euro

Hungary’s small conservative MDF party calls for consensus between the five parliamentary parties and urgent negotiations with the European Union seeking to introduce the euro in Hungary at the earliest possible date, MDF parliamentary group leader Karoly Herenyi told reporters on Wednesday.

Herenyi spoke ahead of Hungary’s economic summit scheduled for Thursday and said that his party would call on the government to start talks on the subject with the EU without delay.
