Occupancy rate at Hungarian hotels drops further in October

The average occupancy rate at selected three-, four- and five-star hotels in Hungary was 61.4pc in October, down from 65.9pc in the same month a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Monday.

In January-October, the average occupancy rate at the hotels was 59.7pc, down one percentage point from the same period a year earlier.

The number of guest nights in October fell 5.3pc from the same month a year earlier. January-October guest nights fell 2.2pc yr/yr.

Gross revenue from accommodation at three-, four- and five-star hotels fell 5.3pc yr/yr in October and was down fell 2.2pc yr/yr in January-October.

Average gross revenue per available room (REVPAR) was HUF 11,778 in October and HUF 10,504 in January-October, up 15.0pc and 18.4pc, respectively, from the same periods a year earlier.
