A new Auchan in Miskolc, the tenth Auchan in Hungary, has opened with solar-panels, utilizing the same eco-friendly technology that was proven effective in the Beijing Olympics, napi.hu writes.
Environmentally-friendly and energy-conserving methods were utilized in the construction of the building, which will use solar panels as part of its heating system for the giant store. Additionally, since the heating system will operate at a much lower temperature, it will require less hydrocarbon-based fuels for the heating process, which in turn will reduce the amount of harmful emissions the building releases.
For summer cooling, the building will use the “roof top” method that will allow the cooler air temperatures of the morning to enter the building to minimize the need for air-conditioning once the outside air temperatures rise.
