Foreign bank chiefs and footballers included on Hungarian tax “blacklist”

The names of almost 2,300 individuals with outstanding tax debts exceeding Ft 10 million (€40,000) have been released by Hungarian tax authority APEH. This is 400 more than the figure originally published when the list was released for the first time in 2007, reports Napi Gazdaság.

Several public figures are included in the list, such as former international footballers Attila Dragóner and Péter Lipcsei, although the former expressed surprise that he had not been notified by his accountant of the debts.

Among prominent foreigners, Andrew John Revell of banking group HSBC and Marc Raoul Marie Luet, reportedly the CEMA regional directory of Visa Inc. and former manager at Fortis, Egg Banking and Citibank, also appear on the list.
