Hungary limits industrial gas use

Hungary’s government has instructed further industrial consumers to limit their gas use from 0800 on Wednesday, Foldgazszallito Zrt, a Hungarian unit of Germany’s E.ON, said.

The restriction affects category two industrial consumers using between 500 and 2,500 cubic metres of gas per hour.

Category one industrial consumers using over 2,500 cubic metres of gas per hour were instructed to limit their gas use effective 2030 on Tuesday.

The new restriction has been introduced in an effort to secure services for communal consumers and households, the company said.

Hungary’s gas consumption is expected to be 64 million cubic metres on Wednesday.

Ukraine stopped its supplies of Russian gas to Hungary as of 1530 on Tuesday.
