The Fejér County prosecutor’s office has charged National Asset Manager deputy CEO and former Agriculture Ministry undersecretary Fülöp Benedek with abuse of office by influencing the Fejér county Land Office in the sale of a 200-hectare former military rifle range.
After the purchaser undertook to remove spent munitions from the area, the status of the land was temporarily changed to non-arable, and then back again after one year, Benedek said. “As land law does not define this situation precisely we had to make a decision,” he argued.
