Broadband internet subscriptions reach 1.52m

The number of broadband internet subscriptions in Hungary grew to 1.52m in November from 1.5m in October, figures published by the National Telecommunications Authority (NHH) on Friday show.

The number of ADSL subscriptions inched up 0.25pc to 791,000 in November compared to Octiober. The number of cable subscriptions of the four largest cable-television companies (UPC, T-Kabel, Fibernet and DIGI) climbed 1.5pc to 525,000. As these four companies control about 70pc of the cable internet market, the total number of subscriptions in Hungary reached about 729,000 in November.
