Foreign currency revenue of Hungary’s tourism industry rose 17.6pc in Q1-Q3, state tourism agency Magyar Turizmus said on Friday, based on current account data from the National Bank of Hungary.
In Q3 2008, tourists spent 25.2pc more in euro terms for tourism services in Hungary than in the same period a year before, causing the sector’s foreign currency balance to grow by 19.1pc.
In Q1-Q3 2008, foreign tourists spent EUR 3.1bn for tourism services in Hungary, 17.6pc more than in the same period a year earlier.
