Guest nights spent at commercial accommodations by Hungarian and foreign tourists fell 1.5pc in 2008 compared to the previous year. Guest nights in December fell 4.6pc from a year earlier, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Friday.
In November, guest nights decreased 6.5pc yr/yr.
Gross revenue from accommodation fell 0.7pc from 2007 to HUF 139.3bn (EUR 470m) in 2008.
Hungary’s hotel occupancy rate fell to 48.5pc in 2008 from 50.1pc in 2007.
