A new hotel and office building, dubbed “First Site,” will open on the former Úttörő Áruház (Pioneer Department Store) site on Kossuth Lajos utca in downtown Budapest this May, reports napi.hu.

The complex, developed by TerraConsult, will house category A offices, a fitness and health center, several commercial outlets and a 166-room four-star hotel, named Hotusa, on a total area of 3,300 sqm.

Kühne & Szalai will be running a self-service restaurant on the ground floor.

Boy Howdy, I guess all of a sudden all the real estate problems have been solved and Budapest is at 100% occupancy rate in office buildings, so you have to build and open more.

Dumbest news of the decade. With the APEH tax police waging war against businesses wholesale, all Budapest needs now is yet another dumb hotel, yet another “luxury” office building, and a few more overpriced shops.

This is what happens when there is no macroeconomic planning in a country. Hungary has been struck down by yet another calamity.
