Hungary’s top two commercial TV channels, RTL Klub and TV2, both reported record turnover last year in the face of global economic turmoil, fn.hu reports.
RTL, the market leader, registered net revenue of Ft 35.6 billion, up 8% from 2007, with EBIT jumping 16%, to 6.5 billion.
Turnover at TV2 rose a more modest 1.3%, to Ft 26.5 billion, but the “always second” TV channel stopped short of giving any more financial details.
