Local web firm takes first prize in start-up competition

Hungarian internet company Joobili.com has won the prestigious Seedcamp’s Central-Eastern Europe start-up competition title.

Joobili is a new travel website that uses trip dates to recommend festivals and other time-sensitive events across Europe. This emphasis on timing is what differentiates it from other travel sites oriented around destinations and activities.

Joobili is the brainchild of two former MBA students from the Central European University, Jared Salter and Tamás Gábor. The website was launched earlier this year with the backing of local start-up investor Hamu és Gyémánt.

Seedcamp is a series of competitions organised by some of Europe’s leading investors with the goal of linking start-ups and investors.
