Austrian-owned shopping center opens in Kaposvár

Center Invest, owned by private Austrian investors, on Thursday inaugurated a HUF 7.5bn shopping centre in Kaposvar (SW Hungary).

The two-storey 13,000-square-metre shopping centre is the company’s first retail property in the centre of a city, though it plans to build more under the “Corso” name, said managing director Csaba Torok. Center Invest plans to open another Corso store in nearby Pecs in 2010, he added.

Center Invest has invested HUF 50bn in Hungary since it entered the market in 1999. Until now, it has built shopping centre under the STOP-SHOP brand.
