The European Commission has approved another three major infrastructure projects in Hungary, the government spokesperson said in an online news conference on Saturday.
Brussels has okayed upgrading the electricity network of Szeged, S Hungary, rehabilitating the sites of waste dumps in central Hungary and building a sewage treatment facility in Bekescsaba in the southeast of the country, said Bernadett Budai.
The cost of three projects is estimated to total 55.4 billion forints (EUR 186.4 m), 47.7 billion forints (EUR 160.5 m) of which is EU financing, the spokeswoman added.

Mmmm, and I wonder how many of these contracts will go to “mates” of government officials.
Am I cynical?
When it comes to this bunch of jokers, f&ck yes.
Don’t be so cynical, JD. The Hungarian “partners” will only steal app. 96.75 percent of this latest chuck of throw-away EU money, okay, maybe the full 97 percent. But the rest will likely find its way to these most wonderful “infrastructure improvements” that the country could never afford to pay for by itself. See, the Hungarians are hardly ever taxed, and even when they do, they do so at such ridiculously low tax rates, the gov’t has no money for anything!
And after the EU money dries up, I am almost certain that the famous Hungarian-American, Mr. Peach (Barack O.) will be sending American money over the Hungary wholesale. No? Medvedev, then?
Can someone please slap the EU hard, in the chops and tell them to stop giving these crooks money.
