Another 100,000 square metres is expected to be added to the more than 1.1m square metres of shopping centre area in Hungary this year, though some projects could be suspended because of financing difficulties, property consultant Cushman and Wakefield said on Thursday.
ETO Park in Gyor (NW Hungary) is expected to be inaugurated in the spring, and the Allee and Corvin Atrium shopping centres could open by year-end, Cushman and Wakefield said.
Last year, more than 70,000 square metres of space was added to Hungary’s shopping centre market. Among the centres inaugurated were Agria Park in Eger, Korzo in Nyiregyhaza and Forum in Debrecen, all in the east of the country.
