President returns law on electronic documents to Parliament

Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom on Friday sent back to parliament for reconsideration a bill on the electronic delivery of official documents, the president’s office told MTI.

The president judged the legislation, passed by parliament on May 11, to be faulty in terms of the law’s procedural standards, though he agreed with its general aims. He also noted that the court system has yet to introduce the financial and technical conditions to enable its implementation.

He called on MPs to reconsider various professional aspects of the law and to make sure they are consistent with each other.
