Managers of state-owned companies have so far returned over 100 million forints (EUR 350,000) from bonuses for 2008, the national asset management company (MNV) told MTI on Monday.
With regard to the financial crisis, then Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany called on heads of state-owned businesses to return their bonuses in October last year, and instructed the national asset management council (NVT) not to grant any bonuses for 2009.
Last year’s bonuses have been paid to recipients since May 31, 2009; so far, 70 managers have sent them back to the treasury.
