The most optimistic of students enrolled in Hungarian higher education about their employment opportunities were those studying military subjects, IT or law, a survey taken early in the summer and revealed on Friday said.
The most pessimistic were agriculture students, with 68.2 percent of them feeling gloomy about job availability, the survey said.
Asked about the impact of the economic crisis on their employment chances, 69 percent of students said they were not affected at all, 13 percent said the crisis had a negative effect on their future opportunities and 16 percent said things would get better for them. These results included exceptionally optimistic responses by law enforcement students.
Economics students - studying in the field which has been most popular over recent years - were one of the most pessimistic and 63 percent of them said short-term employment trends in their field were negative.
Humanities students in 49.7 percent said the crisis would worsen employment conditions while 43.8 percent of them said it would not have an impact.
