Output of Hungary’s construction sector rose 15.9.pc in June from the same month a year earlier, according to both unadjusted and workday-adjusted figures, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Tuesday. The twelve-month increase follows a 9.6pc fall in May and 8.0pc decline in April.
KSH attributed the rise to the low base in June 2008 and large civil engineering work soaring 75.3pc from the same month last year.
In a month-on-month comparison, construction sector output rose 12.3pc in June following a 2.6pc decrease in May, according to seasonally- and workday-adjusted data. Output in January-June was down 1.9pc from the same period a year earlier.
In H1, output of the building construction segment slipped 1.0pc, output of the civil engineering rose 32.4pc and output of the specialised construction branch fell 17.4pc.
