Outing fat cats receiving exorbitant pay-offs is currently flavor of the month in Hungary, which is no bad thing The latest example is former Deputy Director of Economics at MNV Zrt. Júlia Szűcs, who received Ft 19 million (€70,000) in severance pay after working only nine months at the state asset manager, writes vg.hu, based on a report by daily Magyar Hírlap. The MNV told the paper that the amount was granted to the former director on three different entitlements: pay for period of exemption, severance pay and unused vacation days. The governing Socialist Party (MSZP) recently proposed a salary cap for leaders of state organizations no higher than that of the prime minister, which is currently Ft 18 million. András Cser-Palkovics, deputy spokesman for main opposition party Fidesz, responded that his party had made a similar proposal a month ago, which MSZP ignored.

When these guys get caught, do those investigating also bring the people who approved the payment under scrutiny?
Wow, these Hungarian Socialists are not exactly up-and-up on human resources compensation protocol. I mean, what does a termination pay package, a.k.a. “golden parachute” got to do with someone’s annual salary?
Hungary beyond a shadow of a doubt is the most
corrupt and decadent country as far as business
is concerned on the planet.
Dirty fat left-over communists with their greasy
hands caught in the cash register everytime.
It doesn’t matter if Hungarians go to the polls
expecting the next set of political rogues they vote in to clean things up.
A pathetic language law grabs the headlines
whilst good old Magyarorszag slips ever more
slowly down the drain pipe into oblivion.
Okay then, CravenA. But now, please — give as the BAD NEWS!
