Hungarian property brokers, appraisers face mandatory accreditation

The Ministry of Local Governments is preparing a decree that will require real estate brokers and appraisers to become accredited, the draft of the decree on the ministry’s website shows.

The decree would make real estate brokers and appraisers produce a CV, a training certificate and proof they owe no money to the state before they are included in a registry of accredited professionals.

The registry would be reviewed once a year for changes.

Does that apply to foreigners working in the field as well? I remember there was quite a cufuffle about this issue before when the Hungarian government clashed with the RICS over what could and could not be recognised. I have a feeling that one can probably buy a place in such a registry with little difficulty no?

Surveyor. Everything in dear old Magyarorszag is
dependent on how much money is in the kitty. No?
The depth of corruption in real estate in Budapest knows no bounds.
Accreditation for real estate agents. Are they fucking joking or what!
A system for weeding out the useless and fanciful
politicians from whom all evil springs would
be a better option. The mind fucking boggles. Honestly it does. Lets introduce another language dispute with, say, the Ukraine, another bankrupt
backwater of a swamp only held together by the glue
of IMF/EU loans. Does this soud a familiar note?
Bajnai and Gyurcsany certainly would know.
