Liquidation procedures were begun at more than 100 firms in Hungary’s once-prosperous meat processing industry in the first eight months of this year, writes napi.hu, based on data collected by Opten Kft.
The largest such firm to be liquidated this year was Herz Szalámigyár Zrt, which had capital of Ft 2.25 billion (nearly €8.3 million) and revenues of Ft 7.1 billion last year. The process of liquidating the firm began in May following disputes with CIB Bank. Over 300 employees are being laid off, and as no new loans were available, production has stopped.
They must lower their costs. Low paid job beats no job at all.
Hungary is disintegating in every sense of the word.

deng feng. Pay a meat processor worker less than they already get paid? You might as well cut their arms off and make burgers out of them because the burgers would be worth more than the wages. Selling some quality meat products other than spam and they might have a few more customers. I do not believe for one minute that all of a sudden people have stopped eating meat. The market is there for the product if the product is at best good.
The pig business is undergoing massive consolidation in magyarorszag right now. Maybe thats the answer- get bigger. And that could bring down costs. You would think with access to water, grain, labor that magyarorszag could compete in the pig business. Apparently not.

I would never admit to that; I would be too embarassed. as Obama, Geitner, Summers, Orszag, Berhaske, Rubin,greenberg, feldman, rattner, are all doctorates from these instituions leading us into the abyss of bankruptcy and feudalism and stalinism. I am actually in the Professions. But I did study at an instituiion grounded in Rational expectations. They basically advised 30 years ago: dont buy real estate (I didnt); dont buy stocks ( I didnt). This advice spared me millions in losses. They proved 30 years ago that any government spending/financing is basically off-set by the private sector. They were right. did we learn? Nope.

The US government is indeed beyond bankrupt. Probably 50-70% of the citizenry is also bust. Next time you visit New York, Miami Beach,etc. just aim for any street called “Martin Luther King Drive”. You will see abject poverty like nowhere else on the planet. The US has 150-200 million 3rd world peoples; so you would expect 3rd world income. Many Americans pay 50% for taxes. (Capitalism?) The average American caucasian household must earn about 100k/year. after taxes it isnt much. But HUngary is following a similar path: high taxes, Big Government. under these conditions, asia will be the economic victor.
