Hungary’s jobless rate passes 10% in July-September

Hungary’s average unemployment rate was 10.3 percent in July-September, up from 9.9 percent in June-August, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Thursday.

The average unemployment rate was 7.7 percent in July-September a year earlier.

After slightly lower rates in the previous three-month periods, the jobless rate returned in June-August to its peak reached in February-April this year, and went further up to a more than 13 years record in July-September. Analysts expected 10.1 percent from July-September.

The harmonized unemployment rate calculated according to the Eurostat methodology was 9.5 percent for Hungary in August, up from 7.8 percent in August last year, KSH said.

The average number of unemployed was 436.200 in the 15-74 age group in July-September, up from 418,800 in June-August and from 327,700 a year ago.

The number of employed in the 15-74 age group fell to 3,783,500 from 3,800,200 in the previous three-month period, and was also down from 3,924,300 a year ago.

The participation or activity rate was 54.9 percent for the 15-74-year age group, similar to that in June-August but down from 55.2 percent in July-September last year. It was 61.9 percent for the 15-64 age group in July-September.

A quick and simple way to reduce unemployment on paper would be to only count what should be the workforce ie. 17-64 year old or 18-65 . Communism is over. Why include children and old age pensioners on this list? Are the people really expected to work 60 years? Anybody know the official work retirement age?

  2. Frankoferko says:

david, your knowledge about Hungary seems to be lacking a bit, no? I mean, you claim that “Communism is over.” Why is that, friend? Considering, for instance, that there never really was Communism in Hungary yet. Maybe you are talking about North Korea instead?

From 1948 until the present time, i.e. for the past 61 years, Hungary had SOCIALIST governments, save for a few brief periods when non-Socialists were in power.

That is all there is to it, really. I just love how some of the Westerners are confusing Socialism and Communism like they were interchangeable concepts and systems of government. Only to the uninitiated, I’m afraid.

But the uneploymenrt rate is still pretty darn high in joyful Hungoland, no matter who calls the shots.

  3. david says:

Well that was useless info to my queries- rambling rubbish- wonder if anybody else may have some insight to my queries?

  4. Adolphus says:

Dr. Frankenferto, North Korea is a dictatorship
which calls itself communist. Cuba? Same. Stalinist
Russia? Same. None of them were any more communist
than my left arm. Anyway, what is communism?
Marxism? No country in the world ever practiced
    Marxism.

  5. Frankoferko says:

@david, Dear Sire: when someone calls you an ass because you are publicly confusing and confounding Socialism with Communism, the best you could do is shut the heck up. Pray tell, can you tell us the difference between FEUDALISM and CAPITALISM, or are those also the same things as Socialism and Communism in your book?

Friend, you must have watched way too many Western-devised “Red Scare” and “Godless Commies” propaganda movies when you were a kid, right? It shows, too.

@Adolphus: my handle is ‘FrankoFerko.’ And not ‘Dr. Frankenferto,’ you apparently blind idiot!

“North Korea is a dictatorship which calls itself communist.”

MY TAKE: Sire, you are an ignorant asshhole. The officially name of the country (verbatim English translation) is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, abbreviated as DPRK.

Adolphus, are you really such a vveggie, Sire, that you equate the word “democratic” with the word “Communist” or “Communistic?”

    “Cuba? Same.”

MY RELATED QUESTION: Same WHAT, you fool?

    “Stalinist Russia? Same.”

MY SUGEGSTION: YOU need mental help, and pronto, My Dear Adolphus.

“None of them were any more communist than my left arm.”

MY RESPONSE: I never said that they were, fool. I said that they are Socialist and not Communist.

“Anyway, what is communism? Marxism? No country in the world ever practiced Marxism.”

MY SUMMARY JUDGMENT: Adolphus, it looks like you’ve written the definitive book on world history, buddy. When are you getting the Nobel Bone?

  6. CrispianStPeters says:

Communism: A term for the peasants to accept what is, in fact, DICTATORSHIP. Ask Stalin, Big Joe to his friends (and enemies). I know he’s dead – but ask him anyway!
Hungary suffers from the legacy of being an ex- eastern bloc country. Corrupt and inefficient bureaucracy that employs the hard of thinking and those with a chip on both soldiers.
    North Korea…Iran..Venezuela…Cuba…aaagggghhhh
Frank’n'furter aka any number of different tags just
loves to sleep with those Russian bears.. ermmmmmmm..
China, Brazil, India, are becoming big players on the world stage..watch out, you Yankee doodle dandies.

  7. Adolphus says:

Frankfurter, haha, you really are a slice of prime
    dickhead.

  8. Frankoferko says:

@CrispianStPeters: I just love how some of these learned Westerners are suddenly global authorities on all things Communist. What a natural-born talent they must possess, huh? Closet-Reds, you think?

Re. dictatorships, many say that the United Kingdom or Great Britain or whatever the hell the name of that little country is with the ancient queen is a Fascist dictatorship. Still, it is probably not a Communist country. You think not?

“Hungary suffers from the legacy of being an ex- eastern bloc country.”

Right, Hungary is indeed an Eastern Block country in Eastern Europe, no doubt. It’s all mental, you know…

Re. Venezuela… I live near to it, and go there once or twice a year on business. An amazing place, Caracas can never be mistaken for an East Block capital, that’s for sure. Lots of RED STARS and reg flags everywhere, amazing sight indeed!

And guess what: the Socialist Gyurcsany-Bajnai Hungarian brain brigade had decided to shut down the Republic of Hungary’s embassy in Caracas “in protestation” against the Socialist government of Venezuela! I could not make up this shit if I tried, man! So, if you are an Ungaro and need some consular service done, you are being referred to the Hungo embassy in Brasilia! How convenient!

    http://www.mfa.gov.hu/kum/en/bal/actualities/spokesman_statements/Caracas_closed_090827.htm

BTW, you can get along fine in Venezuela speaking Russian. But if you should croak in Ingles, the reception will definitely be much, much cooler.

  9. Adolphus says:

And BTW, Dr. Frankenfarka, if you say N Korea is a
democracy, then so be it. Just like the old GDR.

  10. Frankoferko says:

@Adolphus: does your name have anything top do with “anus?” No? Isn’t it what you do, though?

Anyhow… strictly speaking, there is no such country as “N Korea” or “North Korea,” friend. Read what I said on this matter beforehand, or else go back to grade school (a much better option for you, IMO).

Now, re. the DPRK, they themselves say that they are a “People’s Republic.” Just like Hungary was for decades until recently. I assume from your tone that YOU, All-Knowning Adolphus-Anus, disputes this fact, right? BTW, just what makes YOU to be such a DPRK authority, all of a sudden? Are you from there? Speeak Korean fluently? Do you live and work there? Do you hold an advanced degree on the subject? What, then?

Now, here is a trick question for you closer to home, A-A: was the GDR a SOCIALIST or COMMUNIST country??? Take your time answering, but think your answer through and through, kerem szepen.

  11. Adolphus says:

    Dr. Frankofrako,
It was a fucked up country, just like Hungary and
your poor little mind. And can I quote your second
post “Maybe you are talking about North Korea
instead?”. WTF? Now you said there is no such
    country. Have you a clue?

  12. Frankoferko says:

@Adolphus: there probably isn’t a land worse-off and more miserable than where they kicked YOUR sorry ass out of, I propose to you. After all, for YOU, living is Hungary is a marked improvement.

    Poor, poor little Adolphus… :-( (

  13. Adolphus says:

@Frankoferko. I got kicked out of Panama.

  14. Frankoferko says:

@Adolphus, nice try as far as desperate attempts go, but I ain’t buying it, buddy.

Like some wise man once said, some guys get all the great breaks. Too bad all you’ve gotten from life so far are a few broken bones, huh?

  15. Adolphus says:

Freakfutyi, what makes you think I live in Hungary?

  16. Frankoferko says:

@Adolphus-Anus: You mean to tell us that even Hungaria had kicked your hide out? Just how low can you go, my dear man?

BTW, if you indeed do not live in Hungaria, just where do you live then? Bolivia?

  17. Adolphus says:

Got kicked out of Panama and sent to Canada.Love it.Great to leave the old swamp.

  18. Frankoferko says:

@Adolphus-Anus, did I hear you right, loser, that even shitty Hungaria had kicked your filthy hide out? Just how low can you go, my dear man? BTW, if you indeed do not live in Hungaria, just where do you live then? Bolivia? Canada? Mongolia?

Tell you what, Adolphus-Anus, why don’t you go back “home” — if you have one, that is.

  19. Adolphus says:

Frankenfütyölös, maybe I’ll just move on down to
Panama and see if it’s all you crack it up to be.
Got a bed free? Preferably in a room with a lockable
door… given your anal fixation I’d be quite
    nervous.

  20. Frankoferko says:

@Adorfasz von Anus: did I hear you right, Adorfasz, that even shitty Hungaria had kicked out your filthy raggedy ass, boy? Just how low can you go, my wretched n’ miserable man? BTW, if you indeed do not live in Hungaria, just where do you live then? Bolivia? Canada? Mongolia?

Tell you what, Adolphus-Anus a.k.a. the Adorfasz: why don’t you go back “home” — if you have one, that is. I doubt very much that my country would want to have anything to do with dirt-poor carpetbagger foreign adventurers such as yourself. Those days are done and over with, you illiterate jerk.

  21. wolfi says:

@FrothingFreak: Which is YOUR country – are you emperor or just main a**hole there ? Citation:

I doubt very much that my country would want to have anything to do with dirt-poor carpetbagger foreign adventurers such as yourself.

  22. Frankoferko says:

@Adorfasz-wolfi: got back to Bundess-Schesseiland von DDR, aber schnell, and leave us the heck alone already, you demented provincial fraud-fu*ck!!

  23. wolfi says:

    @freakin’f*ck:

Again my Question: Which is YOUR country – please answer…

  24. Frankoferko says:

@wolifi-Ador-a-faszi: tell you what, good buddy. Why doncha go back to Bundess-Schesseiland von DDR, aber sehr schnell, Du armes Schweinpuffer, and leave us the heck alone already, you demented provincial fraud-fileld Heviz circle fu*ck!!

BTW, everyone on this site seems to know exactly what my country is, Dear Ador-a-fasz wolfi. Amazing the news hadn’t reach you yet in the remote provinces, huh? Are you absolutely certain you are still alive, Fool?

But here is a little hint: it ain’t Hungo-Scheisseland, nor is it Deutsche-Scheisseland, Now, happy?

  25. wolfi says:

    @F*ckingFreak:you wrote about YOUR country “it ain’t Hungo-Scheisseland” -
so what are you doing on this site about Hungarian life and politics ?

NOBODY here is interested in your feces, why don’t you go drown in them…

  26. Frankoferko says:

    @@wolfi Ador-a-faszi, our well-loved albeit seriously demented provincial fraud-filled Heviz circle fu*ck!

Take your dick out of your mouth once in while, You Tortured, Lost Refugeee, You. Also, make sure you use a strong mouthwash after the act, you know…

“NOBODY here is interested in your feces.”

Now, that may be true, but why do you then suppose that folks would be chomping on YOUR stale sheite, Heviz’s Demented Burgenmeister Alter Ego!?

Anyhow, for someone living in the desolate Hungo-provinces, just what business is that of YOURS what is going on in the Hungarian capital, huh? After all, YOU are not even a magyar person, and never was a magyar person, you foreign riff-raff scumbag. Let alone know anything about what goes on with BKV, since chances are you are just now moving up to the world of bicycles down in the urine-stale countryside.

  27. wolfi says:

    @FreakyFunky:
You never answer questions, do you ?

My interst in BKV stems from visiting Budapest from time to time, can you even imagine that ?

Of course, for you the idea of leaving your feces filled dungeon under the panama kanal is unthinkable, you might meet real people, maybe even a woman and would not know what to do with her…

  28. Frankoferko says:

@wolfi: you are truly one pathetic excuse for a human being, no two ways about that now, taho paraszt fiu.

But then again, I was just thinking, who else but a classless world loser would move FROM the so-called West TO an Eastern dungeon called Hungary? Best I could figure, you were either exiled or kicked out of your own country. Otherwise, you must be an asylum escapee. Yeah, that msut be it then, surely.

Anyhow, can you provide some acceptable proof, please, that you have actually been to Budapest and know how to mount and disembark a city bus there? I take you for a rather illiterate country bumpkin, you see.

Another outfit (MTI-ECONEWS) that earns a living
by dreaming up bogus statistics on employment figures in Hungary.
Two million gypsies (non-taxpayers), and three million unemployed/retired, and one million, idle, communist bureaucrats make a mockery of the
    MTI-ECONEWS assertions.
Bajnai and Lendvai are two more for the chopping block -pretty soon!!!

  30. Tanczer P. says:

MTI says: “Hungary’s jobless rate passes 10%”

MSNBC says: “US unemployment rate tops 10% for first time since ’83…. Obama calls data regretful, says he’s working hard to restore economy.”

Which just goes to show you that litttle piss-ant Republic of Hungary had caught up with world superpower United States of America real good.

BTW, Obama regrets the bad news for the US unemployed. Meanwhile, Prime Minsiter Gordy Bajnai was overheard saying: “If they cannot afford the fucking bread, let them those whiners eat cake instead.”

  31. david says:

@Cosmic Egg. 2 million Roma in Hungary? And none pay tax. You must have dreamt it. 2 million!?!

  32. Tanczer P. says:

@david, you and your aberrant Internet-fuck cohorts here are certainly stinking Hungo-Gypsies, so that accounts for about 500,000 of them right then and there.
