IMF representative says budget risks remain

The Hungarian government is committed to keeping its general government deficit target, but there is still risk in the budget, for example that related to the revenue from corporate tax which will be known only in December Iryna Ivaschenko, who heads the IMF office in Hungary, said at a conference on Thursday.

The IMF will start a new round of its loan review next week, Ms Ivaschenko said.

Hungary got an IMF-led EUR 20bn financial support package in November 2008, after its bond markets locked up.
