Magyar Telekom CEO says firm to become leader in pay TV market

Hungarian telecom company Magyar Telekom plans to become a leader in Hungary’s pay television market within five years, Chairman and CEO Christopher Mattheisen said on Thursday, Dow Jones reported.

Magyar Telekom currently has a market share of 22pc-23pc, which expanded significantly from just 10pc-15pc from mid-2008, Mattheisen said during a conference call.

There is further room for growth in the market, with the number of subscriptions steadily increasing, Mattheisen said.

“It looks like television is going to become a much larger part of our future than it is now,” Mattheisen said.

The pay television market includes satellite, Internet protocol and cable television.

Yeah, and do you know what, with their sooper dooper sophisticated wizz bang satellite, IP and magical TV, if you get TV, phone and Internet from them you still can’t get these arsewipes to send you just 1 bill rather than 3.

Oh and I so enjoy my 107 other channels of shit just to get 5 with an English soundtrack, worth every penny!

These guys wouldn’t know customer service and technology if it bit them on the arse. But then again, neither would the majority of Hungarians.
