Buda's newest shopping mall Allee will remain open despite recent cases involving carbon monoxide poisonings of shoppers at the facility, writes vg.hu. Opposition party Fidesz says the complex had been issued opening permits in a rush for "PR reasons." The mall, located in the 11th district of the city, was opened at 11:11 on November 11. Four days later, fourteen people at a below-ground-level store fell ill after inhaling exhaust fumes coming from the parking garage, and five more suffered the same accident the following day. The local chapters of opposition parties Fidesz and the KDNP have ordered the Socialist mayor of the district, Gyula Molnár, to stop risking people's health for "his own goals."
The district's notary said there was no reason to temporarily close the mall, and police are currently investigating the case.
