Parking Media to introduce Umbrella ads

umbrella.jpgHungarian outdoor advertiser Parking Média Kft plans to start installing a new type of public advertisement space called "Umbrella" next month, reports kreativ.hu. The advertising boards, which are a Hungarian patent, are designed to protect parked cars from the elements. Parking Média will first install "Umbrellas" at Budapest malls, gas stations and fast food restaurants. The boards will first advertise the company, which will start selling the advertising space in January. By the end of 2010, Parking Média plans to install a total of 100 "Umbrellas" in Hungary and later expand abroad.

I don't get it. My car is my umbrella from the
elements. And it gets dirty when it's on the road,
not when it's parked. Pointless dumb marketing
concept.

Umbrella? It looks like some half-finished plastic
bus shelter. Cheap advertising on a shit concept.
Welcome to innovative Hungarian marketing and advertising ideas. Soon may appear the slogans:
"Vote MSZP for a better future" or,"Fidesz. A new start".

Those ads are exactly what we've been waiting for. Already we get flyers in our post box from all parties, by next year this will probably increase tenfold.

About 30 years ago some Germans had the idea of pressing paper into a kind of "briquet" for burning. It was quite popular for a time, but the stink...

It would be nice if we could press our political
leaders into a Briquet.
