Three Hungarian companies receive EMAS environmental protection awards

Three Hungarian companies – Audi Hungaria Motor Kft, Elgoscar-2000 Kft and the Lake Balaton Integration and Development Agency – received awards for their achievements in environment protection at the “European EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) Awards 2009″ in Stockholm on November 19.

Of the winners, EU Commissioner for Environment Stavros Dimas said: “By applying EMAS, they are all taking part in fighting the climate change, contributing to the improvement of the environment’s condition and showing a good example to others with their responsible behavior.”

According to vg.hu, 18 Hungarian companies have EMAS verification.
