South Korean tire maker Hankook wants to expand its operation at its central Hungarian Dunaujvaros plant, Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom told reporters in Seoul.
Solyom is on a four-day official visit he started in South Korea on Sunday.
"Hankook is very satisfied and considers Dunaujvaros an excellent investment," Solyom said.
The company plans to spend 400 million dollars on the investment within a year, according to MTI's information.
In Solyom's delegation senior foreign ministry official Laszlo Varkonyi conferred the title of Honorary Consul to Hankook Vice President Cho Hyunsik.
The president started his Monday programme by visiting South Korea's largest Cheju Island. He met the governor of the Special Self-governing Province, Kim Tae-Hwan there, who hosted him for a luncheon.
Solyom in the afternoon paid a visit to the Hanjung wind farm.
