Hungary’s Finance Minister has signed a 567 million forint (EUR 2m) contract with two law firms to represent the country in a dispute with a Portuguese cake maker, the ministry told MTI on Tuesday
The ministry confirmed a report by internet portal origo.hu but declined to provide any further details.
The ministry hired the Hungarian firm of bnt Szabo Tom Burmeister and the Swedish firm of Mannheimer Swartling to advise Hungary on a case filed at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) by Portugal’s Dan Cake.
Dan Cake’s Hungarian unit Danesita Hungaria is under liquidation, according to the company register.
