Flextronics inaugurated a new plant in Sarvar (W Hungary) on Tuesday, creating 500 new jobs.
The plant will produce computers, servers and workstation products for Lenovo.
Flextronics Computing president Sean Burke emphasised at the opening ceremony that they are looking forward to expanding their strategic partnership with Lenovo, which he said contributes to improving both companies’ competitiveness.
Flextronics has so far largely supplied mechanical and system solutions to Lenovo’s Chinese subsidiary and performed production operations for Lenovo’s Brazilian subsidiary.
With the Sarvar plant’s production worth hundreds of millions of dollars per year, the company wants to play a leading role on the European market for computer technology products, primarily PCs.
The Sarvar plan created more than 500 jobs.
