A four-part documentary entitled Háború a nemzet ellen (“War against the Nation”) about the privatisations of the past 30 years is being screened at Budapest’s Uránia cinema.
The audience gave a standing ovation to director István Jelenczki on the opening night.
“Hundreds of years of fighting for the treasure of the Carpathian Basin led to the privatisation which resulted in the ransacking of the nation, and to the privatisation of all the national assets,” he told Magyar Hírlap. The film argues that the sale of national property is equal to treason.

And you wonder why magyarorszag is in the crapper? The intelligentsia has to move from the deification of marxism and collectivism. Otherwise it is endless debt, enslavement, and poverty. It is really actually comical.
I completely understand István Jelenczki: a subsidized bureaucrat with a hang to nostalgia, whose only explanation for our misfortunes is the free market. A power hungry man, who is willing to compromise his own freedom for government “safety” (read: serfdom). My god man, these “elite” are despicable. Private enterprise and initiative is the only vehicle that can take us all out of the crisis.
I agree. I haven’t seen this film (and probably won’t) but from this description it sounds like the intelligent out there will be scratching their heads in amazement at the blind stupidity and dogma demonstrated here.
I can only imagine that auditorium floor was awash with saliva from the moronic, dribbling audience.
Shame I missed it. Just had a look at his website [
http://www.jelenczki.hu/ ] to find out more and it
seems one of the people contributing was a certain
Molnár Oszkár. Must have been a balanced account.
Anyway, will reserve judgement until I’ve seen it.
Populism, populism and more populism. A hungarian version of michael moore, and a complete misunderstanding of how things really work. It is a shame these “authors” receive so much media coverage and hardly any tough questioning. Maybe someone should make a film on how capitalism and free enterprise eradicates poverty, provides you freedom and opportunities, creates jobs, and pays for the state. Funny that in these kind of movies nobody ever mentions where the state gets its money from?
“sale of national property is equal to treason”. So
all private land ownership is treason? Is Jelenczki
a Marxist?
When he said
“Hundreds of years of fighting for the treasure of the Carpathian Basin led to the privatisation”
It raises a few questions;
1. How does fighting lead to privatisation?
2. What treasure is he refering to?
………. is a salt mine.
A salt mine in Transilvania? Or is that Hungary itself? One is a hole with f$ck all natural resources and an unlivable environment, the other …………… you guessed it
Let me tell you that Stevie Jelenczki is a total fucking pillock. The commies where here for fifty years and the MSZP and Fidesz dynamic duo, continued where they left off. Hungary is the capital of corruption with amateur politicians, a dismal bureaucratic and local government service,
a farcical tax system and no real chance of things improving.
Jelenczki is an ostrich with his head in the sand along with all the other feathered freaks that stood up and applauded his palinka-fuelled nonsense. Ice cream, anybody?
Commissar Jelenczki the pig captain at Animal Farm
blames Private Enterprise for Hungary’s poor showing on the world stage?
What a fantastic rant NapoleonB, I really enjoyed it.
Yes, Napoleon, give us more…
Just received my electricity bill. AFA @ 25% and the electricity costs have increased as well. I am furious. It is absolutely sickening that wages stay comparatively low in Hungary whilst the prices for everything increase at a rate of knots.
As far as Jelenczki and his misguided film are concerned its just another example of the mountain we have to climb to reverse the trend of us slipping,day-by-day, ever deeper into the mire.
I don’t like to typecast but I will have a go:
does Jelenczki wear bell-bottoms, sport a beard, wear glasses, and went to university and read Marx?
His supporters have Uncle Joe Stalin keyrings for their Lada and Trabant cars.
I’m waffling, I know. Just fell off my chair. Put the top back on the palinka bottle. Agggghhhhhhhhh!
Don’t fret too much NapoleonB, any luck and you may get a chance to give the electricity board a further cash bonus next year.

Probably not relevant to this thread (although István Jelenczki may want to make a film about this) I think that apart from public transport and property, virtually everything else is the same price or more expensive than in the UK. Average wage here runs at probably about 1/3.
What does that say about the wealth of the nation Mr István Jelenczki and this treasured prize of the Carpathian basin. More like Carpathian toilet from where I’m sitting.
At least a few of the anti-Hungarian foreign bastards commenting here should be kicked out of Hungary, and pronto.
By that Anonymous I assume you mean me.
Let me tell you something, the only ones Hungarians need to worry about are themselves. This government, the available opposition and the numb nuts that vote for them, do more damage to Hungary than any foreigner ever could, or ever could be bothered to do.
Anonymous. I don’t know what part of the rancid swamp you crawled out of, but return soon.
Just because people criticize what is happening in Hungary doesn’t mean they are anti-Hungarian. Rather, the criticism is directed at trying to get
things changed in this beleaguered country for the better.
The Free Market and Private Enterprise are the best route for Hungary. Old Comies like Jelenczki and the ruling MSZP do not serve the best interests of this nation.
Get that into your thick nazi skull and, put the comic books and popcorn down and go out and learn
to be a good citizen. At the moment you are just another plonka roaming in the wilderness of your own pathetic, vile mind.
