Inner Buda to get makeover in 2010; pedestrian zone near Mammut mall

The Inner Buda town center will be renewed from a nearly Ft 1 billion (€3.67 million) EU grant, District II Mayor Zsolt Láng announced. According to napiingatlan.hu, the area formerly used by Ganz Electric Works and the environs of Marczibányi tér will be reborn by fall 2010.

The section of Lövőház utca between Káplár utca and Fény utca near the Mammut mall complex will become a pedestrian zone, while the section between Káplár utca and Marczibányi tér will have reduced traffic. Mechwart-liget will be renewed, the library of the Central Statistics Office expanded, and the Marczibányi Tér Cultural Center renovated.
