Investigations stepped up over controversial MTV headquarters building

An ongoing police enquiry into the contract signed for the new headquarters of national broadcaster MTV may be expanded to include investigators from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

This past weekend, Fidesz filed a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office against an unknown perpetrator in relation to the case, which is said to involve massive overcharging for use of the new building.

MTV moved to a new property in Óbuda earlier this year, after renting a building for five decades on Szabadság tér in District V.

According to nol.hu, the operator of the building, Millenniumi Média Kft has says it is ready to renegotiate the contract.
