US bioethanol giant Fagen to build plant in Dunaföldvár

The US based ethanol giant Fagen is going to construct a bioethanol plant in Hungary, business daily Napi Gazdasag said, citing overseas press reports.

The project will most probably be located in Dunafoldvar, a town 100 kms south of Budapest along the Danube. Works on the new plant are planned to start in April.

Fagen invested in nearly 50 bioethanol projects across the United States from 2006 to 2008 but now that the boom of alternative fuels seems to be ending its focus there has turned to other forms of renewable energy: biomass and wind.
