The Budapest Capital City Asset Manager Center Zrt (Budapest Főváros Vagyonkezelő Központ Zrt) will offer for sale schools in inner Buda and on Rózsadomb, lots along the Danube and castles this year, writes napi.hu. The city is hoping to get over Ft 5 billion for the properties.
Among the most interesting pieces of real estate offered for sale are two schools in District II. An economics high school on Jurányi utca will be offered for Ft 813 million, while a technical high school on Szépvölgyi út is being priced at for Ft 459 million.
The Flórian shopping center located in District III is on the list of property for sale again, after the city has tried to sell it three times wihtout success.

it looks like hungarian government and local governments see only one solution to money problems. Sell everything you got…..!!!
So it will be lost forever….it is property of the hungarian people in the first place….!
They’ll only do what they did with the old stock exchange building/MTV studios on Szabadság Square for 4.5billion forints only for the government to hand the buyer (Michael Tippin of Tippin Corporation) back 3 billion ft for the Hungarian TV to continue using the building will the left completely. So the state effectively sold a landmark building for 1.5 billion ft.
Expect more of the same. Or maybe next time they’ll just pay people to buy these buildings.
Géza, while I don’t quite see the logic of selling
off public properties like schools and castles,
regarding your comment “it is property of the
hungarian people in the first place”, well, if you
take this to a logical extreme then all private
property ownership (most especially by non-
Hungarians) is wrong. Which sounds somewhat like a
communist principle.
