The number of active mobile internet subscriptions grew more than 70pc in Hungary in 2009, reaching 715,000 in December, the National Telecommunications Authority (NHH) told MTI on Wednesday.
The total number of mobile internet subscriptions rose to 933,000 in December from 494,000 one year earlier and 865,000 in November, while the number of active subscriptions increased from 666,000 in November to 715,000. This figure was 415,000 one year earlier.
In terms of the total number of subscriptions, T-Mobile’s market share fell to 45.93pc from 46.39pc in November, Vodafone’s dropped to 24.72pc from 25.57pc, while Pannon’s rose to 29.35pc from 28.04pc in November.
In terms of the number of active subscriptions, Pannon’s share rose to 25.32pc from 25.04pc in November, Vodafone’s grew to 26.11pc from 26.08pc, while T-Mobile’s market share fell to 48.57pc from 48.89pc in November.
One year earlier, T-Mobile’s market share was 53.21pc, Pannon had a market share of 24.57pc and Vodafone held 22.22pc of the market in terms of the number of active subscribers.
In terms of data traffic, T-Mobile’s market share fell to 44.71pc from 45.78pc one month earlier, Vodafone’s dropped to 29.01pc from 30.49pc in November, while Pannon’s grew to 26.27pc from 23.73pc one month earlier.
NHH figures show T-Mobile users held 33.92pc of the total data traffic on the mobile internet market in December 2008, Pannon’s market share was 24.07pc and Vodafone had a share of 42.02pc.
