Supermarket chain Spar plans this year to renovate 70 of the 174 Plus units it took over in Hungary in 2008, Spar Magyarorszag told MTI.
Last year Spar renovated 15 of the units.
The renovations will cost several hundred million forints, Spar Magyarorszag communications director Zsuzsa Laber said, without revealing an exact figure.
Spar Magyarorszag’s consolidated revenue jumped 31.5pc to HUF 374.2bn in 2008 with the acquisition of the Plus units, but the company expects growth to continue in 2009, too, Spar Magyarorszag managing director Peter Feiner said earlier. The company’s market share climbed from 10pc to 14pc in 2008.
