New Szeged University building to use cutting edge eco-friendly technology

szeged-uni-engineering.jpgA new building belonging to Szeged University’s Engineering Department will employ the most up-to-date technological advances which students can study and observe, delmagyar.hu reports.

In terms of examples, the windows will be able to absorb and store sunlight in winter; heating and cooling will be provided by a geothermal system, and LED lighting will be powered by solar panels.

The 3,300-square-meter building, designed by Duna-Tisza Ingatlanfejlesztő Kft, is scheduled to open in September 2011. Construction costs will total Ft 917 million (over €3.35 million).
