Hungary active mobile subscription number grows 19,000 in January

The number of active mobile subscriptions in Hungary grew 19,000 to 10.95m and the total number of mobile phone subscriptions rose 42,000 to 11.834m in January, the National Communications Authority (NHH) reported on Wednesday.

The number of mobile phone subscriptions per hundred people rose to 118.2 by the end of January from 117.7 at the end of 2009. This indicator peaked at 121.8 at the end of December 2008, falling to 116.65 by the end of November.

Vodafone’s share of all subscriptions rose to 22.09pc in January from 22.07pc in December, Pannon’s rose to 34.68pc from 34.52pc, while T-Mobile’s share fell to 43.23pc from 43.41pc.

Total subscriptions numbers were down 346,000 at the end of January from twelve months earlier, while the number of active subscriptions was down just 18,000.

In terms of active subscribers, Vodafone’s share rose to 22.61pc in January from 22.54 in December, Pannon’s rose to 33.04pc from 33.03pc and T-Mobile’s share dropped to 44.36pc from 44.43pc, NHH said.
