Orangeways revenue more than triples in 2009

Hungary’s Orangeways carried 320,000 passengers and took in revenue of HUF 1.2bn in 2009, the coach company told MTI on Wednesday.

Revenue climbed by a factor of more than three and a half, the company said.

Orangeways won two tenders to provide contract bus service for state-owned regional coach company Gemenc Volan and another tender for bus services called by the local council of Baja during the year. The company expects more local councils to call tender for bus services in 2010.

Domestic bus service now generates more than one-third of revenue.

Orangeways started operating in November 2007. It now runs 74 buses.
