Distributors of free programme guides cut the number of copies they issued in 2009 because of falling advertising revenue, business daily Vilaggazdasag reported on Wednesday.
The number of copies Pesti Est distributed in the capital each week fell under 100,000 at the end of 2009 from 122,000 in the second half of 2008, the paper said, citing data from a professional association. The number of copies of Exit, another popular programme guide, fell to 80,000 from 100,000.
Publishers of the guides do not expect the situation to improve in 2010, the paper said.
