The European Court on Thursday rejected a complaint by Hungarian fruit processor Sio-Eckes that some of its canned products were not eligible for EU support because they did not meet the definition of “peaches in syrup and/or in natural fruit juice”.
The court said the support could only be paid for canned peaches in which the whole fruit, halves, quarters, slices or diced peaches were in syrup and /or natural fruit juice, free of peel and blemished units.
Sio-Eckes’ canned peaches contained pulp.
